Now important for context, Amarr militia is going through a special time at present.
DNG left militia, Minmatar straight after for first time ever took the warzone. No one is saying Jebi payed off members to go away and lose in nullsec instead of winning for Amarr, but that would have been a clever strategic move.
There has been a lot of grief about winning by not playing. Mostly it is back to the good old days of minmatar being cowards and winning because of broken mechanics. This picture is posted a lot:
For me personally I took some time off eve (prior to the loss of warzone) and pursued some political interests. It culminated in this youtube video I made:
I live in Australia, got involved in the Pirate Party Australia - its supposed to be all about digital rights and technology.... but... they don't understand meme's and for the most part I sort of arrived like an alien from another weird advanced technology civilisation spouting memes and organisational theories and trying to enforce eve style batlecomms and getting people to fleet up for ops... so the outcome was a bit ... mixed.
So it is all in a bit of a special place / time and we are not at our more normal organised humming meme machine level of online strategic force projection for sperging and organising mass groups of nerds.
But I always like to say, bad things happening is the opportunity to display good leadership. It's hard right now, but this is where talent actually matters rather than just going "meh too hard, become one of the sheeple".
Competition
So situation was, had no one committed for the 3 v 3 team. Shit. I'm too busy IRL to invest a heavy amount of time getting commitments and bringing together a team. Have to just see what happens on the day. So that was what I went with for forming our team. See who is available on the day.
Fathers Day
The competition was on fathers day. I got taken out to lunch at an awesome restaurant (Florence style italian) drank a lot of Peroni, had some mozzarella wrapped in proscutto ball things then some hand made pasta ears in a napoli sauce, finished with homemade icecream in profiteroles and some italian desert wine, and the took the kids out to fly the drone they bought me while we were a bit tipsy. My kids are teenagers / drinking age too.... so its kinda fun these days.
Now had been telling my son about the eve competition. My son is everything you would hope for if you raised your boy on the internet. He is a 4chan meme lord approaching wizard level. Wears his Make America Great Again hat and has this goddam weird pattern tshirt, socks, and other hat all done in this stupid pattern from the 80s that is apparently super cool meme level shit. His facebook like his actual life looks like a 4chan/pol get to know you thread. What I really don't understand is that he has a bunch of girls that follow him on facebook and smiley face everything he does and he just ignores them. Thats my boy.
Anyway, talking to him - explaining that Ive been put up against this guy Errestrian in the first bracket of the comp. So it is basically over.
Errestrian is the leader of Sons of Black Rise. The hardest core Korean PvP corp I've yet run into in eve. He was in our alliance for a while, and with him leading AUTZ or more corrrectly KTZ fleets we basically took out the entire low sec region.
Explaining this, son is all - "I believe in you dad". And then a bit of /pol creeping in "just because your white doesn't mean your not good at games". He goes on to give me a bit of a Trump inspired rallying speech. Ha ha.
Get home from the longest lunch, log in to eve, see if anyone wants to die horribly against Errestrian. Had mention in alliance we were against Errrestrian day before and response from everyone was "aahahahhahahahahaha your fucked. Good luck". I'm not saying Tristan daCuhna in particular said this, but Im not not saying that. Thanks bois.

Juan has been around for a while now.. He stuck with Amarr through loss, and I generally dont take any militia pilot seriously until they have done that. I have previously liked Juan but been dismissive of him as maybe not committed to the cause. But hes stuck with it now, so there is a level of respect. Ok Juan would be good.
Tequila is new. Five month old character. Fuck. We are going against SOBR / Errestrian. These are heavy duty skilled high SP pilots. They have 2 teams, and we are up against their more senior team.
"How many SP you have Tequila"
"I have about 56m, ive been chaining skill implants like a bitch" or something. Ok promising.

Shit. Why the fuck do people not have at least 100m SP.
Plus side both of them were focused in small gang pvp. So they have a good base set of skills... just not everything maxxed. OK.

So we decide on armour tank for cap efficieny. Juan uses a Sacrilege for deeps and a neut, I grab an Ashimmu for neuting and webbing and a small pathetic amount of dps, and we chuck Tequila in a Logi cruiser. Fuckit. DRINK
Ships build, we undock from Jita and fly to nearby lowsec system for fight just in time.
The we wait...
A guy streams a fight that we watch. Interesting combo. Their Blackbird is alphad off field pretty much straight away, but rest of their fleet has superior brawling and wins the day. Fight worked pretty much how I predicted they go. My team has a bit more confidence in my half assed plan.

Undock. Pop our drugs. Warp to the comp organiser.
I made possibly my worst eve propoganda ever for this fight, mostly because on my home desktop I only have GIMP installed which is just shit for making propoganda unless you have a lot of time.

It is an in joke from when Errestrian was in our alliance, and we used to joke about another alliance member City-Cadellane who had maybe eaten dog once. I took a statement Errestrian had made out of context to make him look like a murderous puppy killer.

Errestrian is in a Zealot. His teams other dps is a Cerberus. They have a shield logi frigate as well.
We prelock our own team. Prelock enemies.
"Start the fight"
Deploy repair drones, assign to our Logi.
Accelerate straight at Errestrian.
Errestrian moves towards me from about 50km but he is looking to kite and moving to the side as well.
I overheat MWD. Overheat Webs. I'm in a dual web Ashimmu.
Heavy dps is incoming on our Logi cruiser. Worried it will break before we even can hit them.
"GOT HIM. WEBBED AND NEUTING"
I have Errestrian. I am one neut one nos on my ashimmu. Hitting him with my lasers as well. Juan starts fiting in the HAMs on him as well.
Their logi is holding him however.
I keep draining Errestrian, swap targetting to the logi pilot. Put webs on him. Miss a few shots from my lasers. Shit.
Swap neuting to logi. By this time Errestrian has been under some heavy neut pressure for a while. The incoming DPS has dropped, but that damn Cerb is still hitting HARD from range.
Logi neuted. Errestrian is now crumbling under Juans HAMs. I switch my lasters back to errestrian, re web and re neut him.
Errestrian goes boom.
"fuck we got him. hes down" ETC....our comms is surprised.
The referee comes into our comms - they are now disqualified because the range ship has broken boundaries and ive told hiim to stop sooting you and he still is.
"I state on comms, no. I dont want to win because of a technicality. Can we keep going?"
"Sure if you want to....."
Spend some time repositioning, Lock logi. Web, pull some range for tracking reasons. Boom.
And then their last guy warps off.
